It's a very long story, but I have to go to Beantown on Monday. My sister is having surgery at Mass General on Tuesday. Again, it's a very long story why she has to have surgery in Boston.
The surgery itself is estimated to take 12 hours. Sue will need to stay in the hospital at least a week postoperatively. And then she will need 8 weeks to recuperate. Sue's biggest concern is getting an infection at the hospital. I'm just hoping her surgery and recovery goes better than my mom's a few years ago. My mother, in perfectly good health, went into for a "routine" procedure and, due to a series of mistakes and mishaps, died a few months later.
